You gotta go to Milford Texas!

I was lucky enough to get a canceled spot at Our House in Milford scrapbooking retreat! This place is a must for anyone in the Texas, Oklahoma or Louisiana area who scraps or quilts. The food was good, the is more than enough space as well as lighting! Angie and her mother, Ann are the most wonderful hostesses. You will not have to lift a finger for anything! Check them out here: http://ourhouseinmilford.homestead.com/index.html

I was having to much fun with the Scrapple Dumpling Gang that I was only able to spit out 3 layouts! But the week end was a hit anyway.

2 Weeker

It appears that I blog about every weeks. I can accept that!

Unemployment is not what it is cracked up to be. I thought that I would get lots and lots of scrapping and cleaning done, but NOOOOO. Sleep seems to be the big deterrent. I won't be able to keep this up though. Family visits are coming up. My sister in law and her husband are headed our way soon. And Les and I will be traveling to Kerrville soon to see my dad and his wife soon too! Lots of photo ops for sure!

Mel's husband had a surprise party for her this past Friday. What a blast, this was my first surprise party and Mel did not suspect a thing! I made my first banner for her too. I will post photos soon.

Lynda and her daughter are on a week cruise to the Caribbean. I know that she will love it just as much as I do. Cruising is so laid back.

I hope all is well with everyone. Next time it will not be 2 weeks, I promise.

Brrrrr.....

Well, ok, so it is not that cold here in Texas, but for us thin skinned people it certainly is! It is half past noon and the temp is 37!!! Egads, at this rate, I may have to move to the beach! Keep warm everyone!

Celebration NO style.

Might not be the most thrilling minute of video that you have seen in the last week, but here is Addie, Sophie and me ringing in the new year in New Orleans.....

Well, I am working on my video skills. Thanks for looking. Happy New Years everyone.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!

Just returned from dinner at Mulate's. Wonderful food and great music. Check it out here......http://www.mulates.com/ Addie is drinking a Tornado, just as strong as a Hurricane. She was pretty slow on the sip!

They have a Cajun band and everyone dances. The photo is of a very nice elderly man who was going around asking single ladies to dance with him. He came by a few times and we had to take a photo of him. He was wearing many different buttons and one of them was "I am a recycled teenager" I believe it. He was all over the dance floor.

We are now in the rooms resting up for the big night. You can feel the excitement in the Quarter. They are dropping the Fleur de Leis at midnight and there will be thousands of people including Sophie, Addie and me!

More later, I hope everyone had a safe and fun celebration!

email updates

For some odd reason, my laptop is not allowing me to send any emails! I hate traveling with my laptop sometimes!

Anyway, Antoine's is the second oldest restaurant in the United States. It is the oldest one that is still family owned. The food was so very good. I had the bisque, trout almandine and puffy potatoes that they are famous for.

Here is a link if you are interested in learning more. http://www.antoines.com/index.html

While it is not my most favorite place to eat in New Orleans, it certainly topped the list for the most expensive!
