Blowing away....

....Well, the wind is certainly kicking up around here, but the sun is out. Nancy is soaking the rays up today, she loves sleeping in the warm sun. I just love this dog, but she is a bit on the ahem.....large size. She is on a diet and is starting an exercise program. Today she trotted all the way to the mailbox and back! She uses the grass on either side of the sidewalk as bumpers to keep her from falling in the street. I am so proud of her that I almost gave her a kibble. Isn't she the cutest?

The other photo was taken as a "Nancy cam" taken from her perspective. Now close your eyes and imagine trying to get round without your sight.

Nancy is one of the reasons that I have been able to keep a positive outlook. If Nancy can adjust her blindness so well that she can find her way around not only her home, but my mother's home too, then I can certainly keep a postive outlook myself!

Here is to Nancy, the sweetest dog in the world!

I'm back!

Ok, so much has happened since I last posted.

Last Tuesday I rode to work with my husband. I took this photo of his truck when we left the house. Once at work I was called into a meeting with my second level manager and a woman from HR. Not good. Needless to say I have taken an early retirement. I found out that there were about 550 layoffs at Dell last Tuesday alone. Seems like the people that I tell know someone else who was laid off as well.

Not the best way to start the day. After that, my mom and my son found many ways to keep me busy for the next few days. I must admit this might be the best thing that could have happened. I was very stagnant in my job. There is a lot less stress in my life now. That is until the bills start rolling in. I was thankfully offered a decent severance package.
More later.....

Pack it up! Here is what is left in the house after boxing everything and getting it ready to go in the attic.

Not such a loyal blogger

But I have been thinking about it! I have a weeks worth of photos to upload too. I am trying to take a photo each day. It is a good thing that I am more loyal to picture taking that blogging!

Scrapped with the Scrapple Dumpling Gang yesterday at the local Archivers. Had such a good time. Each time I leave the house I feel guilty for not getting more done around the house, but then I get there and I quickly forget about what is happening at home. I really do need the break some times.

This morning has been very productive on the home front though. Laundry putting up Christmas is all but finished. All while grooving on my I-Pod! I need to use that thing more often. Really helps get the chores done more quickly! (also drowns out the "mom" that is heard way to often in this house!) I did not know that Bruce Springsteen has such a great version of "Viva Las Vegas"! If you have not heard, it do your self a favor and find it. Lacy and I had quite a dance!

More soon I hope. Now to the photos.......

Take a good look, you might not ever see this car in this good shape for a long time! Picked up Addie's car from the shop, finally got the repairs completed from the accident in August! Now if we can get the passenger door fixed.

Did you have your good luck black-eyes peas and cabbage for New Years? I did, keep your fingers crossed!

Taking the Challange

Ok Melanie - here goes. Another shot at a blog. I hope to use this one as a positive source in my life.

The best thing that happened today other than discovering that my buddy Melanie has a new blog is that I was had a wonderful New Year's Day dinner with my husband and family.

L. and I have decided to take a photo a day. I will attempt to upload my photos so that you can keep up with me too! Wish me luck, if successful, I hope to upload my picture of cabbage and black-eyed peas. A tradition that will bring you good luck and financial security in the next year.

Keep trying to keep positive! More soon.
